Rubber Monkey are currently taking preorders ($369) but don't have an arrival date yet.Reg18 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 12:10 pmSweetwater, I rang around NZ dealers but they weren’t even sure if they were going to order any in as the first version Tonex didn’t sell very well.
Apparently direct imports brought in 10 original Tone x’s into NZ and only 6 have sold so far. That’s the NZ market for you I guess!

Re: IK Multimedia ToneX
Has anyone else got the ToneX one yet?
Am I right in thinking you can’t adjust the parameters of the compressor and the reverb like on the bigger unit? It’s just a level control for each? I’ve skimmed the manual and I don’t see anything about it in the global menu settings.

I wondered that, so on the original unit you can deep dive in the menu and adjust the type of reverb from Plate, spring etc and adjust the length of decay and other things. Seems as though the smaller unit is just level? That’s how it reads in the manual.

Re: IK Multimedia ToneX
That would be highly frustrating. I thought the idea of these was cheaper cost and less editing capability through physical knobs, but without sacrificing much in the way of functionality once connected to the app.

Re: IK Multimedia ToneX
I think all the parameters are still available in the app, you're just limited to a mix control on the mini pedal itself.
On the demo videos I've seen controls for reverb type, time, pre-delay, colour and mix in the app.

Re: IK Multimedia ToneX
This might be a stupid question, but does anyone know if there are captures out there of just the preamp sections of amps - I guess via the effects loop out?
I've had a hunt around, but didn't find much.
It seems like that would be ideal if you were going to run the ToneX into the effects loop of an amp or use a power amp as just disabling the IR would still keep the original power amp sound. Or would that not make a huge difference?

Don't know if they're out there, but in answer to the last question, yes, it will make a massive difference.Hollow wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 8:52 am This might be a stupid question, but does anyone know if there are captures out there of just the preamp sections of amps - I guess via the effects loop out?

Re: IK Multimedia ToneX
There's quite a few that are called "direct captures" - which exclude the cab section. Usually still includes the power amp section, but that doesn't make much difference for most amps (except those that area based on power amp distortion - but then, you'd want that to still be included even if you are going to use the power amp section of your amp unless you are going to rely on your amp's power amp to distort).
