I've always wanted a face-melting modern high gain monster built into a tweed covered combo or mini head and 1x12.
Everytime I buy a Katana, I promise myself that I'll build a tweed cab for it then run the higain amp all the time :D
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I’ve seen a katana which has been recovered in tweed!

It's the one. I've had dozens of EL84 amps, incl. Morgan, Matchless, Vox (I've had maybe 10?), and the TC15, well at least my TC15, is the best of the bunch. Weird. I do have nice tubes in it including a Tesla EF86 which is a fire breathing monster of a tube, and it runs through a 20 year old Celestion Blue that has been thrashed...so, sum of all parts I suspect. And it's quiet, and tonally flexible. Mike's build quality is supreme.

But, you can't buy those kits anymore. Parts shortages or something.

Page’s Selmer/Sundragon.

Original AC4/10/15 circuit - especially EF86 based.
These are excellent suggestions...I might add a Gibson Maestro w/octal preamps, a Fender Harvard or even a 5F11 and replace the front end with octals. I have NOS octals should you need them.

Exciting stuff.

Or a Roland JC120 in a Mesa treadplate shell.

Yep, and Mike will have one.

Yeah I do have the schematic & I've got a TC15 too. I could build you one except the OT is a specially wound Heyboer that had dual primary windings (5K & 8K) and as Grant says, Trinity seem to have stopped producing any kits. So won't be able to get that OT.

What effect would that have on the amp over all (if you had to substitute anther oT)?

I'd go one with an 8K primary. I don't know how much it would effect the tone, probably not much but I'm guessing. I think Grant got the last one from Trinity. Check trinityamps.com. PS. Mine & Grant's TC15s were both kits from Trinity.

+1 also for whoever mentioned the 200w Pig above - crank it through a single 120w cab…. good enough for Mick……

The 8K primary tap produced more power than the 5K. A replacement OT with an 8K primary would not change the power. The TC15 is only about 12 watts RMS clean - will it even fit your requirements?
