Guitar amp DI options/CabClone alternatives

Post by hercules »

Hi folks,

I currently have a Mesa Boogie Mark V:35 which comes with Mesa's CabClone built-in. It's been great and I'm very happy with it, especially for live use - a lot better/simpler than a mic.

However, I am thinking of selling the '35 and getting a Fillmore instead, which doesn't have CabClone. Can you recommend any reasonably-priced alternatives? I might just get the external CabClone setup but I am sure there are other good options out there.

Thanks.

Ah yep, I do use the headphone out (though that's not amazing) for silent practice. Hmm.

Cazeus sounds awesome but there's no silent option. But sounds like you don't need that anyway.

Ahh ok that's good to know. Yeah, I use it every now and again but not regularly enough to justify some of the really expensive ones.

Sadly expensive is your only option if you want a reactive load :(
