Ashdown Newt Pedalboard Poweramp - Youtube Video

Post by Zaulkin »

Hey folks,

I have been going through the backlog of videos I started and haven't finished yet. I made this video on the Ashdown Newt which is a pedal poweramp that rivals the SD Powerstage 170/200. I found it to be seriously good and I'd recommend it as a solid option for those after a pedalboard poweramp. The fan was louder than the SD I think, but otherwise it was really great. I had fun fiddling around trying to make it a really epic video. I probably should have gone more into the controls and everything, but I have improved my lighting and my workflow a bit so that's a win.

I need a haircut. So does everyone in Auckland I guess.

Fun fact:

After recording the solo take I realised I did that thing where I put my pick in my mouth, but forgot, and grabbed another pick. So it looks like I've got a tiny flourescent tongue hanging out. Awesome.

Classic. Or you have the pick in your teeth then 'can't find it' and wonder who keeps stealing your picks.

That beard looks like it can hide a whole pack of picks too!

That's weird, I used to have a baby bomb a while back but no ground noise. Is it constant regardless of what you're doing with your modeller?

I had no extra noise with the Newt.

I thought I got a lemon but then I tried with my Iridium pedalboard and there was no noise! It’s very noisy with my FM3

Weird. Maybe you could try a humbuster cable. It might not fix the issue though.

Tried powering the FM3 from a different wall socket than the baby bomb?
