Those Studio Marshall models look like great amps. Would love to grab the JCM800 model myself.
Loving it so far

Big fan of 10” speakers, that’s what’s in my AC10 and I prefer it for bedroom playingde_079 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 5:04 pmThanks - definitely recommend trying one out if your local Rockshop happens to be holding one. There's a combo version but I passed on that because I wasn't sold on the idea of the 10" speaker. Having tried this one first through a 2x12, I couldn't really believe that they've successfully voiced the combo for a single 10.

The combo version was at a discount from the original price but I guess with having a speaker cab on hand here at home I was hesitant to give it a go. Hopefully it's just what you're looking for!rickenbackerkid wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 7:58 pmde_079 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 5:04 pm Thanks - definitely recommend trying one out if your local Rockshop happens to be holding one. THERE IS A 20 WATT MARSHALL JCM800 COMBO WITH A 10 INCH SPEAKER?

Re: NAD (kinda) Marshall SC20
Yeah I've noticed they seem to work well on the VOX models which use them, and I've tried a Blackstar 1x10 which sounded nice. On the other hand I tried an Orange Rocker 32 combo a few months back which definitely left me feeling like they ought to have spent a bit more time on it, the 2x10 configuration just didn't seem to do it justice.jeremyb wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 8:45 pmBig fan of 10” speakers, that’s what’s in my AC10 and I prefer it for bedroom playingde_079 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 5:04 pmThanks - definitely recommend trying one out if your local Rockshop happens to be holding one. My band mate has a Rocker 32, he reckons the Orange Speakers let it down slightly and he's keen to get something like a Greenback type thing

Re: NAD (kinda) Marshall SC20
Yeah, it needs something that can do justice to the amplifier, which I could tell was really good. The concept itself is great, with the stereo effects loop. I'm sure they went with those speakers to keep the price down, but I reckon they ought to have tried a decent Celestion model. Could see the Creamback working quite nicely with it maybe? Something with a bit more low end.rickenbackerkid wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 9:30 pmMy band mate has a Rocker 32, he reckons the Orange Speakers let it down slightly and he's keen to get something like a Greenback type thing

Re: NAD (kinda) Marshall SC20
Mate has one of these after he sold me his rocker 15 head, and found it underwhelming till he plugged it into his 2x12 cab with v30's...
Re: NAD (kinda) Marshall SC20
I was looking at the combo version of this they had on sale at RS, a case of mistaken identity as it happened as it was the SV20 I was keen on. Its curious that Marshal have 3 20 watt 10 inch combos on the market at the same time: The SC20, SV20 and Origin 20. In the midst of the confusion I bought a Supro comet instead (which sounded glorious for half an hour before I killed it: Dont ask) Currently in negotiation with a member here for something tasty. Will post a NAD when I am ever sorted.

SD-1 into a JCM800 creates an instant happy place Not really found a boost type pedal they don't like though.
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..

Re: NAD (kinda) Marshall SC20
Not suprising to me, I find a 20 watt 1x10 to be the minimum size/power for moving between home playing and jams/gigs. They are loud enough to have some go but are portable and practicalvinylguy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 4:28 pm I was looking at the combo version of this they had on sale at RS, a case of mistaken identity as it happened as it was the SV20 I was keen on. Re: NAD (kinda) Marshall SC20
Marshall seem to have twigged that 90% of amp buyers are playing at home or in small gigs, but still want a "big amp sound". Hence the low wattage takes on the Plexi (SV20) and JCM800 (SC20).
I'm keen on the SV20c myself, if I can find a combo version to try out.

Looking forward to trying one. Definitely found it to work nicely with the RAT but I'll pick up an SD-1 when I get a chance because I've always liked that sound.

This is what I suspected would be the case. How are you finding the Rocker 15?
