Just wondering if any of you have used a Duncan 170 Powerstage and if so what you're thoughts were.
Similarlyi nterested if there's one out there up for grabs.

Re: Duncan Powerstage 170 Anyone?
had a mate whp swore by his -used it live quite a few times.Price has been the only thing that puts me off-its almost better to run a mini class d bass head with a loop (straight to pwr amp) but then thats not always pedal board friendly. The elf might fit on/under a big board

Re: Duncan Powerstage 170 Anyone?
I am running one on my pedalboard and it is really sweet.
Something you should seriously consider is an Ashdown Newt. Very similar to the power stage but with more power and a better output jack (the SD ones are known to be a bit finicky).
I bought both and they are both great, but the newt didn't quite fit on my pedalboard. So if you are interested in that please let me know, Id sell it for half the price of an SD powerstage and its new in box etc.

I got a Harley Benton stereo amp from Oldie to amplify the Kemper. Let me know if you want to give it a go and I'll box it up.Dharmajester wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 11:13 am Just wondering if any of you have used a Duncan 170 Powerstage and if so what you're thoughts were.

Re: Duncan Powerstage 170 Anyone?
I had a PS 170 and thought it was pretty good. There did seem to be an annoying high top end to my sound when I was playing through it though. Tried to dial it out via my AX8 and also the on board eq but just couldn't seem to get rid of it. Ymmv.
Loving it so far
