Help me choose a New Mesa Day
Going to pull the trigger on a Mesa California Tweed in the near future. Just sorting our prices and deciding on a finish. Blonde is standard, custom colour would probably be about $400 extra.
I'm leaning towards Surf Green. Blonde is cool but my wife isn't a big fan of it so won't tolerate it sitting in the middle of the lounge very often. Mesa's Surf Green is quite bright in photos, but might fade with time. Sonic Blue is probably too similar to my Tele. Wine Red is really purdy but doesn't quite suit the California Tweed vibe. Could be convinced though. Emerald Green usually doesn't float my boat but I think it looks really nice with the cream faceplate and knobs.
So help me out.

Probably would go with the standard tan grille cloth.

Re: Help me choose a New Mesa Day
The blonde or perhaps the red would be the only colours I would want sitting in my lounge for any length of time.

I reckon wine red will look awesome with a bit of age and a few battle scars.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Re: Help me choose a New Mesa Day
denche blue reminds me of baby vomit, with those corners and grill cloth
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Wine Red is the best, but I wouldn't pay $400 extra, it doesn't cost more to make it does it.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Which one sounds best?
Like the emerald green followed by the red but I'd save $400 and get the blonde.
$400 is a cool pedalboard toy.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Help me choose a New Mesa Day
Black looks smart but if you're getting a new Mesa it'd be nice to take the opportunity to choose a more distinctive, 'custom' finish. I always liked the wood / wicker stuff they did when they did that thing. Back when they did it.

Re: Help me choose a New Mesa Day
They still do it. Want to guess how much it would add for a wooden finish?
