1W tube amp..?

Post by chrisz »

I'm looking for a 1W tube amp for home, bedroom volume use.
Anyone knows if there is something out there in the market?
I have a 5w using it at low wattage mode all the time and I feel its a bit same.

Whattabout looking at installing a VVR in your current amp instead? then you can crank it in 5W mode and then wind its volume down with the VVR :)

I loved my Marshall DSL-1R.

I have heard good things about Wangs 1W head, provided you have a good relationship with your insurers.

Sign me up if you have a couple.

I found the schematic ok but can't work out where the tube goes. The numbers 1-9 correspond to socket pins?

I've got the gear to build turret boards. Can you link me to that schematic and I might be able to build a couple.

Also thinking you could replace the basic 1 knob tone control with a TMB stack:

There's enough juice later on to compensate for any insertion loss.

Ha! Be my guest Mike, but it's prolly much simpler as a pcb project once you have a look... build doc here

Unfortunately, I'm out. There's an etchable layout on the build doc, otherwise if there's a bit of interest I could get some fabbed. Might be a squeeze to get 'em in before Chinese new year with COVID freight delays
