Yeah. There is that. It makes my post open to accusations of insensitivity and on a second look, I 'd agree.

Sorry 'bout that.

But you have to admit, back when we did louder, it was much more good. :D
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

It's all good, if anything I am making more of a dig at myself for all those years of hearing abuse I willingly subjected myself to and am now suffering the effects of.

But yes, nothing quite beats having your hair blown back by a full stack 8)

actually, if I had a dollar for everytime I said "actually I'm quite deaf" and the reply is "pardon?" "sorry, what was that" etc etc

And they all think they are the first to ever say it. Even after I've told them how bored I am by it now. Sometimes I'll tell them how fucking ugly they are, but usually I'll just tell them how I've never ever heard that before and congratulate them on their (half)wit.

I'm blessed to work with a team of millenials who have never said anything of the sort. Even though I call them wankers and worse.

So yeah, if you've said that to me, chances are I've pissed in your beer.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Yeah years of the same sort of thing being a kiwi living in the UK.

I had heard every single possible sheep shagging joke ever by the time I'd been there a year. 15 years later, when I left... still the same jokes, all told like it was the first time I'd heard them.

I never dared mention that my Dad is Welsh.

I bought some Sony WH1000XM4s late last year, read reviews about how their sonic performance will allow you to hear things on your favourite tracks you can't hear on other headphones.

Not with my hearing.
If people are saying that about active noise-cancelling headphones, you're reading the wrong reviews.
I suspect a bit of overselling of the performance was involved, or they were being compared to those headphones they sell in BP petrol stations. Regardless, they do sound excellent and the What HiFi review was suitably glowing.
Good to hear that they've worked out for you. What Hifi are usually generous in their reviews as well. InEar Fidelity is my go-to for headphone reviews.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
