Anyone know anything about 12av7? My friend gave me these. In the forums, people say they're quite microphonic. Also in the family for 12ax7.
They're Tung-sol, form what appears to be, from the 50s,...also got sylvianas and RCAs.Anyone tried using these on amps before?
12AV7?

They are more like a 12AT7 than a 12AX7, but with less gain.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

12AX7 gain is 100
12AT7 gain is 60
12AV7 gain is 17
Try them anyway.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
