A sound, or an image perspective?
Sound. Never managed to get a Gibson to sound great through a MB. Fenders are no trouble.
John Sykes did ok

For a while I looked for a classic rock sound using MBs and a Les Paul. I watched the videos on YouTube and they all sounded great. Electra Dyne, Mark V, Maverick and Express 5:50. However in a band situation, they didn't sound great. The other guitarist ran a strat through a Tiny Terror and sounded way better. But the MBs produce other good sounds, especially clean/slightly dirty with single coil pickups or very high gain.

The Mark V nearly gets into Marshall territory.

The Rectoverb, Tremoverb and (apparently) California Tweed are all great-sounding, versatile amps that could be my one and only.

Gibson can take the rest for all I care.

On YouTube, found Skyes' tone from Still Of the Night, with Les Paul. Great.

Fuck Sykes was as good a player as you could get at the time if you didn't count the stunt men like Yngwie, Vai and so on.

nah. great amps!

very sad to see the Mesa company bought up by a larger brand.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

I remember my first Boogie.

I sold a Marshall Silver Jubilee combo to buy a DC5.

I distinctly remember plugging in, hitting an A, and thinking “f*ck, it sounds different. I don’t think I like it.”

Hours of tweaking ensued, stubbornly refusing to concede buyer’s remorse.

Played a few gigs with it. Ended up mostly on the clean channel with an SD1, because the dirty channel’s party trick was disappearing in the mix.

Ended up trading it for a line 6......

Not a period I’m proud of......

All I know is that when they start using hide glue in their cabinet joints, I'm going to pay three times the price and be honoured for the privilege to do so.

I will not be surprised if they start making reissues of the Rev G 2 channel Dual Rec Solo, which in itself isn't a bad thing, but they will probably be twice the price of a SLO.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Must be Xmas, they're all popping up.
A Happy New Year to you Sir! :D
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
