Amp gurus, are these step-down transformers ok?
Hey fellas.
My Power Station arrived yesterday, Wahoo! Merry Christmas to me, I have a new toy to play with! But no, they didn't include the step down tranny they said they were gonna send with it.
So just looking at Jaycar ones, will this be ok?..

The PS is 300W output and that's a 500W tranny.
Merry Christmas to you all!

Are you sure the trannys in the Power Station don’t have taps for 230V ?
I’ve had a local tech rewire a couple of VHT/Fryette’s.

Its the new PS-100. I emailed my supplier and he in turn emailed Steve Fryette about it. He said it cannot be changed internally to 240v in America, (not sure if that means it cannot be done here in NZ though..)
So looks like I'm gonna have to buy one. Can't be arsed waiting for them to send one over.

That’s expensive. Let me check if I have one. I’m sure I have some 300s, not sure about 500s.
I do have a much better one rated at 800, and with safety circuit protection built in (which I’ve found can be very helpful). It is not being used, so if you would rather have that, let me know.

Might pay to get it looked at by a tech anyway, to see if it’s doable.griff7628 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 7:17 am Its the new PS-100. That step-down should be fine. You want equal or more wattage rating from the transformer. If Oleg can’t hook you up then I might have a spare too- will have to check wattage.

The 800W one? I wouldn't use a 300W one.

Same here. Very likely that it's got a 230V tap in there which is usually a half-hour job by a tech.
