The Lesser Known Amps Thread
Interesting what you find about the place! This is a 1965 JMI built Vox AC10 Super Reverb Twin head, never knew such a thing existed, very cool!

They sound really good, especially for me the first two.

Re: The Lesser Known Amps Thread
I converted an old NZ Broadcasting Service amp into an AC10SRT for a customer a while back- turned out really nice with a great range of tones. I liked it so much that I recently built one from scratch for myself, but as a little single-ended version. I ditched the reverb and trem but added an fx loop for some versatility.

Re: The Lesser Known Amps Thread
It's just a standard 240VAC::6VAC toroid from RS Components. It provides the filament voltage and a second toroid (inside the chassis) transforms the 6V back to 240VAC for the B+. Two toroidals back-to-back costs about $60-70, compared to $120 or more for a single multi-tap 'tube amp' transformer.

Good move, I'll file that idea away for future reference!RectifiedAmps wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 9:17 amIt's just a standard 240VAC::6VAC toroid from RS Components. Re: The Lesser Known Amps Thread
Can we include modern day lesser known amps? I'm not aware of many /13 BTR23's lying around in NZ for example.

Mark Bartel is a true artisan. He makes almost every part of the amp and they look and sound great!
