EVM12L Speaker "SOLD!"

Post by Slowy »

Jb just reminded me. I have one of these sitting in a Pearce combo amp. They seem to have some credibility but I don't know anything about them.
Can I be educated please?

And if anyone's interested, I have no use for it.

Heavy, massive power handling, epic sounding, possibly the best speaker ever?

200 watts power handling 100db efficiency, stupidly heavy thanks to the massive magnet and cast frame. Excellent speakers but can be a bit flat with the wrong amp. I've had Marshall amps that they sound superb with and others that were cold and average, nothing to do with models but down to the individual amps. Always fine with Fenders and despite the big power handling can sound pretty damn cool with low wattage amps too. The 15" ones are blindingly good too but of course even heavier.

Trade you for a Celestion Mesa Black Shadow? Which is essentially a Classic Lead 80

Yep
Pretty well thought of speaker for surf.
Probably as they don't melt in the presence of showman / big iron 80-100 watt 6l6 death ray.

Before you get rid of it, let's try it on the Jansen 4/12 and see how it performs for a base guitar plugged in.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
