Preamp pedals

Post by griff »

Before I go out and buy another amp, I was thinking of making more use of my tube power amp instead.
Got me thinking about preamp pedals and maybe running one into my power amp.
Does anyone here have any advice to which are the best sounding/most versatile ones?
After Marshall tones or similar.. A boost function would be a bonus.
Those Victory ones are nice sounding but spendy.

Was going to suggest the Victory range. Look good.

Joyo British Sound.

Or the Tech 21, which is identical.

Checkout the Radial Tonebone pedals.
Classic tube distortion or Hot British.

Pete Thorn demoed the Carl Martin Plexitone.

Koch Pedaltone isn’t Marshally voiced but it’s feature packed.
Clean, distortion ch with high gain boost, 2 separate masters, Fx loop, 0.5W poweramp yada yada.
Not cheap but it’s the kitchen sink.

Yep those Tech21 guys keep ripping off Joyo’s good ideas :P
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Haha made me smile so that’s a use. So did yours.
