Tweedy goodness!
2 new cabs complete for Mike.
Number 1 is a 6G15 Fender Reverb cab - in Tweed! No grille cloth at the moment as the reverb tank need to be fixed first. But it will be standard burgundy tweed Very happy how this one turned out! This was attempt 2 - first one didn't glue squarely for some reason, not sure my finger joint jigs are the best so I went back to dovetails and it turned out pretty much perfect.
and another 5e3 Tweed Deluxe cab. This one is a bit special, its the best I've done. Really chuffed how this one has turned out in the end. I recovered a side due to a nick I'd made in the tweed - not really that noticeable but stood out like a dogs bollocks to me. Not perfect but every cab is getting closer.

Yeah I'm going for an aged look but not a scuffed look if you know what I mean I'm tempted to try a full on relic on one of mine just to see how it turns out!Lostininverness wrote:Thats some fine aged looks there! Looking really good BG.

I did manage to slice a finger doing this, but steered the bleed onto the workshop floor!Lostininverness wrote:Are you going to bleed on it a little more??Bg wrote:Yeah I'm going for an aged look but not a scuffed look if you know what I mean I'm tempted to try a full on relic on one of mine just to see how it turns out!Lostininverness wrote:Thats some fine aged looks there! And here we have the finished hand wired, hand built Tweed Deluxe. This one has VVR (Power Scaling) plus a gain-reduction switch and a Jensen RI C12N - mmmmm AND some pics (cause I can now attach pics - yeeha).

Re: Tweedy goodness!
BG I think you need some sort of image scaling code or something... they don’t really work on an iPad.
