I'm semi-interested in an RM4. I don't NEED it, but it would be nice to have at the right price. I have a stock Recto still sitting around that no-one wants, haha.

Could probably turn the Recto into something else for you. Rockerverb?

Well in that case, the Rockerverb is somewhat similar to your hot rodded Marshalls.

Are there any other amps you would be interested in?

The Synergy TDLX does excellent cleans/mild dirty. The mild dirty sounds great with single coils.

The Synergy 800 has a green channel that sounds just like an unmodded JCM 800. When paired with EL34s, it crunches all day, but is articulate too.

The Synergy SLO does a really great thick overdrive tone on the green channel. It is bright and crunchy. Great lead tone for single coils. With humbuckers, it sounds great too - really thick.

I have only one Syn 2, so I can run only two Synergy modules/four channels. This means my Synergy 800 gets left in the box.

You need another syn2 Andrew!

There are a bunch of modules in the current sale on Reverb. Including the BE/BB and savage. Someone should pick one or two up...

Heres a little 3U fly rack I put together with the SYN-2 and OS/SLO modules.
The OS does cleans and breakup, and the SLO takes over from there.
I have to say it’s quite power amp dependent, the Fryette PS does okay for playing at home, but at bigger gigs I usually plug into the FX returns of rentals, usually Mesa Dual Rectos.

Has anyone tried a Salvation Mods Matchvox? I heard some clips that sounded really good, but knowing a lot of the Vox/Matchless magic comes from the power amp has kept me from pulling the trigger on a module.

I've seen you posting on the MTS Facebook page, didn't expect another kiwi on there! Cool as. Great rig. Where did you get the syn2 from? If I had to pick two modules they would be the slo and os.

Can't comment on the matchvox though sorry. I have the same concerns about it

I’m in India at the moment, so I got the SYN-2 and modules from the dealer here.
Found a used Matchvox for sale at a reasonable price, can’t say I’m not tempted to try it out

The Salvation stuff is always in demand so you could move it on quickly if it's not to your liking. I say go for it!

I have the TDLX which does a really good job. But I keep thinking that the OS might be the same but with more options.

The SLO is awesome isn't it? I sounds so much thicker than an amp/pedal combination.

What size gigs do you play?

All sizes, from small club gigs (my instrumental guitar stuff) to arenas with some of the artists I play with.

Here is one of the faceplate designs i've done for my modded modules. I intend to have these direct printed, so i've quickly slapped on some knobs and switches to give a better idea of the finished look. Obviously i only want the decals printed!

This one if for the Laney TI100:
