Jansen bassman 50 (black panel)
Hey Everyone,
I'm looking for a Jansen Bassman 50. I've been using a mid 70s American Twin Reverb for a looong time but it's not working out for what I want to do these days.
So I'm selling the Twin and am after the Bassman as a replacement (preferably an early model).
Is there anywhere in particular outside of here and the Jansen facebook group that would be good to look for one of these? And can anyone here give me a ballpark figure for what they're going for these days? With original cab would obviously be best.
Alternatively, is anyone aware of an amp builder in NZ who does custom builds of Fender Brown Face clones/ any experience with that?

Can’t help on leads to the gear nowadays. But growing up in the 90s, mates in our neighbourhood band had a Jansen 50 with a quad box from their uncle. Man it was great. I think they’ve still got it along with a Fender BF Bassman 50.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Such great amps, used to gig with other bands quite a lot whos guitarists used them, so good!

I paid 500 for my '72 Bassman 50. I think the earlier ones fetch a little more.
The FB group is the best place, but a few pop up on Trade Me.

Mike is one of several people here who build world class amps. I own one as do several others. If you're serious, start a thread asking for someone to build your amp. I can't speak for who would take on the project but your odds of success are high.Peanutswilson wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 8:06 pmIs that in regard to custom build or Jansen bassman? Just the head. In great order for its age.Peanutswilson wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 8:03 pmThanks for the feedback. Was that with or without the cab?crowbgood1 wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 10:50 am I paid 500 for my '72 Bassman 50. I think the earlier ones fetch a little more.

Seems like the sale is a scam. The photos were lifted from a 2 year old post. The original poster still own, and has posession of the amp.
