MIDI to USB connection

Post by Olderama »

Hi all

Awaiting delivery of a GT8 and looking to hook up with my laptop to run a editor
Never dealt with midi before I have noticed the cheap midi to usb interfaces on TM
Are they what I need?
Are they reliable?
Or what would be better bearing in mind not wanting to fork out too much for just this application

Cheers

Oldie

I've heard bad reviews on some of the cheap USB to midi stuff, might be best to check the boss forums for a compatible device and go from there :)

Don't you have an eleven rack? Wouldn't you just be able to use the midi through on that?

I have had the cheap midi-USB cables work fine with one device, but not at all with another device. So it's a bit of a gamble.
