At a Def Leppard concert, Vivian Campbell played a song on a '56 gold top. Unfortunately it sounded inferior to his humbucker equipped Les Pauls. Not sweet at all. Cut like a chain saw through the mix. You couldn't hear the other guitar. I wanted the song to finish so that he would put it away. That's a reason why so few gigging musicians play guitars with P90s.

Being a total peasant I would really love one of these. All nice and shiny, don't like old smelly ones.

I have been fairly seriously gassing for a Gibson Historic lately, but they're crazy money, and I gotta say the new 50's Standard P90 looks pretty bloody nice for a few K less.

I remember watching Gary Clark Jr trading solos with Keith Urban at the Grammy's on TV in recent years. I think Keith was playing a Tele, but Gary's blue Epiphone Casino had the worst, thinnest tone I've ever heard from such a pro-level muso. Not sure if it's the sound he's going for, but it sounded shite.
Nothing to see here.
