That's a shame. Thought it'd fit the bill there, Reg; even if it is red.

He's still not said what the speakers are.

Pawnshop have a Celestion branded 4x12 With G12T-75 speakers in it, but it’s covered in felt and looks rubbish, $500 though! However I’ve seen some 1960a cabs go for around that in the last year. You hear a lot of chatter about no one wanting a big amp anymore, except when your looking for one!

I must say this amp is begging for a Les Paul or SG (which I don’t have) considering flagging the 4x12 and getting a Gibson!

Here’s a list of cabs from the backline company
He said he has too many and could let one go.
What price would you expect to pay?
I was thinking $600-$800 for 1960A or 1960B
Maybe 1k for 1960AV or 1960AC?
Looks like he doesn’t have any 1960AX which is what I was hoping for.

ive prob got this wrong (again) but i remember someone saying the rockshop made these as a way around a disrtribution deal in the early 90's,or something.could have even not been those cabs-memory is hazy trying to think back 30 years....if they've got 500 on it its worth an arm twist eh? although as matt posted in the MTS thread they seem to be a little less leniant these days

Seems like that Marshall head you have deserves something a little better/more tasteful than an old felt covered cab 8) Might just be me.

I might have thought it would have suited a more classic/vintage speaker model also, not that I have any issue with 75's.

I'd hold out for something out tbh, especially as the Pawnshop didn't seem too interesting in bargaining last time I tried.
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..

I paid $650 for my 1985 1960a. That's the jcm800 edition with the first era t75s. I'd pay less for a later version with the less desirable iteration of the speakers. They're all plywood though so no worries there.

I'd grab one of the 1960B cabs then change the speakers over time. As they're wired as stereo cabs you could replace the speakers a pair at a time. The Jtm will happily run through say a pair of greenbacks so you could sell a couple of the 75's and pop two greenbacks in there. You would then have the ability to run either the greenbacks or the remaining 75's or both ( which is also a decent pairing ).

This is exactly what I was thinking too. You still got a couple of GBs for sale?

I'm planning on sticking some H30 heritage in another cab so I'll have four available at some point. Not instantly though as the H30's will be coming from the uk.

Turned out he had a 1960ax cab!
Which I now own! opened it up and it seemed to have the right UK made Greenbacks.
If you are looking for some classic amps or cabs most backline
Company’s are struggling at the moment and would be a good place to start. This guy had 4x Korg era AC30s and numerous other stuff not listed on his site.

Not that I can talk or anything but have to agree. A good one will show up Reg; keep your eyes set on what you want and don’t be tempted to pick up a cheaper one just because it ‘looks’ the part

He wasn’t prepared to let any B cabs go, plenty of 1960a, couple of 1960AC and a couple of 1960AV
