FS: Epiphone Dot SOLD

Post by Reg18 »

:winky: Bought this year as a project guitar to do up but I’ve just not bonded with it, might be the 3rd 335 style guitar I haven’t liked so I think it’s probably just me, not necessarily the guitar.
The bad: headstock break by previous owner, repaired by him (he was a carpenter by trade) looks a bit rough as you can see in photos but seems solid as.
Plays well, frets ok.

Upgrades which i might split and sell separately if no one here wants this, original humbuckers included.
Bigsby B7 (ex BG)
Brand new Duesenberg pickups, Grand Vintage in bridge (split to single coil on vol pot)
Single twin mini neck pickup
Brand new Artist 335 case (perfect fit)

The guitar itself doesn’t owe me much but the upgrades do.

Offers? Suggestions on if I should sell pickups separately?

I’m not much of a chorus user but it sounds great to me, and it cost less than $99! The fast setting I didn’t like personally but the first one is great

I screwed it on! I honestly thought I’d be keeping the guitar and couldn’t justify the extra cost for a vibramate.
What’s a broken neck epiphone dot with a Bigsby actually worth? Let’s say without case, $400?

$400 for the package or

$200 for the Bigsby
$200 for the Duesenberg pickups
$250 for the dot with the original pickups

Don’t worry about taking the bigsby off. My 335 has holes from a bigsby that used to be on it, just adds character. Goes well with the headstock break, like a peg leg and a parrot.

You could always cut the Epi headstock to look more like a Gibson..
Loving it so far

Right I think I’ll pull the pickups and maybe the Bigsby, sell the guitar with or without case depending on what buyer negotiates.
I’ll try FB market place tonight and see what happens, guitar with Bigsby $450, with out $300.
Case $100
I’ll keep the Duensenberg pickups as they took months to arrive due to Covid delays in manufacturing and cost a fair bit.
Does that look fair to you guys?

As a comparison (for what it’s worth) I paid $300 for the Dot I bought from Jim. Natural, perfect apart from well repaired headstock break. I’d happily pay that again and feel like it was an awesome deal. In fact wouldn’t hesitate on getting player grade guitars with repaired breaks.

So reckon you’re about right.
