Anyone into Dimebag guitars?

Post by Reg18 »

A local Pawnshop has a couple of rare dimebag signature guitars. A UK lady brought them back with her and sold 3 guitars (including a USA Jackson V)
The natural colour one is 7 of 100 made apparently.
They want $995 for the USA V
2k for the black Dimebag and 4K for the other Dimebag.
I don’t know much about them but thought some here might be interested?

That's actually a great deal for all of those things. If I had the cash to spend on a cool guitar that I'd never play...

Well, shit. If that top one is the USA Southern Cross that'd sell for about $7000. There should be a COA somewhere and a custom shop label on the back of the headstock with a number out of 100, as they only made 100 of them. Or it's a fake, of which there are a few.

A fake number 15 can be seen here: https://reverb.com/item/31229215-washbu ... hern-cross

Although that one has the larger cross motif which is more like the legit ones. I'd be interested to know what due diligence they've done to confirm its authenticity but if it's real, that's awesome. The lady probably got $500 out of the 3 as well.

No certificate anywhere that I saw, I had a strum on the natural coloured one and it certainly felt like a high end finished guitar, not a cheap one. The black one had a serial number of 700 something and he claims the natural one one is 7 of 100.

Yeah that's cool and all but without a COA or some kind of provenance it's a bit of a risk. These are collector's items after all and if it doesn't have it, any potential buyer will have a hard time shifting it down the line if they wanted.

Still, cool to see one in NZ.

Why is there no pic of the USA Jackson V in the original post?
