FS: MI Audio Tube Zone $180

Post by vintage52 »

So.....quite the saga.

Was happy as that Marshmallow had sourced me a MI Audio Tube Zone from Japan. Been after a V1 for quite some time.

Pedal gets to my place and it sounds pretty much like my V2 - controls all the same...but definitely a V1 enclosure.

Having conversed with Michael of the MI, there was a request many moons ago to make and ship V2 circuits in V1 enclosures to Japan - and that's what I have....2 x version 2 circuits with one in the V1 enclosure.

Pictured is the V2 in the V2 enclosure.

Some of the balliest gain on tap that you could imagine......very Mesa like.....

Crank it open and there is no personality from your guitar anymore.....this thing rocks and I don't need two of them.

Hey

It selects 3 different types of mids.

There's also a couple of trimpots inside the pedal allowing control over "sagginess" and some high end.

The tone on the front is reactive in such that if you roll more to the bass side - the treble is gradually removed and vice versa.

I play a tele mostly but the transition to get a good sound out of a HB equipped guitar wasn't too onerous.

If I remember correctly, V3 was bringing the inner trip pots and the mid toggle altogether as 6 knobs on the face of the pedal.

Had one of those too......
