or was it even less? I remember doing my etsm (electronics servicing) for 23.50. Thank god I was shagging a girl who worked in a butchers, else I'd have not had meat in my diet. Only cheap beer.

1981. In actual fact my first two weeks were something like 18.75 because I hadn't turned 16 so they deducted my mum's family allowance. Out of the 23.50 per week I gave mum 12 quid 'keep'. When I got my first proper job at 40 quid per week I gave her 15 quid. Fuckin' hell. Sometimes I honestly had 2 quid for a night out.
