Amp / Cab / Pedal clear-out

Post by robthemac »

I promised myself when I got a Strymon Iridium that if I enjoyed it as much as my tube amps, I'd go full digital. So here we are. Sorry to the tube-sniffers.

I'm not in any rush to sell this, but anything I do sell will go towards something I'm wanting to buy from a forum member, so it'll stay in the family. I'm in Whangarei but come to Auckland occasionally. Could be open to trades - let me know what you have. Probably won't end up selling all of it.

VHT Special 6 head: ex-Slowy. Handwired, all tube (12ax7 and 6v6), 6W at full power and 1W(ish) on low power, volume, tone, pull-boost, high and low inputs, 4/8/16 Ohm speaker outputs. Slowy put a RCA 6v6 Backplate in their before I bought it. Louder than you'd think on full-power mode. $450

Marshall DSL-1HR: only a few months old. Comes with original box, footswitch, manual, warranty etc. I demo'd this against the Marshall Origin 20 at the store, and the DSL kicked it's ass. Brighter than you'd think. Goes loud enough, but don't expect any clean headroom on the Classic channel. Ultra channel absolutely screams. SOLD

Fender Rumble 500W bass combo: believe it's first generation, 2x10, 500W solid-state. I bought it new back in 2015 or so. I was gigging a lot at the time and went through a bunch of boutique bass amps that all had terrible reliability. This thing has been as solid as a rock and sounds great too. Also is super light and reasonably compact. I have no idea what this is worth. $1300 new, SOLD

Attenuator (Dr Z Airbrake clone): ex-Strummers. 6 degrees of attenuation and a switch that seems to add a little treble boost. Not sure on its specs but I would be cautious running more than 40W or so into it. Ants might know more. Worked great with the VHT. $100.

Blackstar HT 1x12 cab. Contains Blackbird 50W 16 Ohm speaker. Bought off TradeMe about a year or two ago. Sounds fine. $200

Custom 2x10 cabinet loaded with two Warehouse G10C. I think this was built by Strummers. I've been using it as a cab but it's just yearning for a Super Reverb or something to slot in there. Sounds great and absolutely looks the part in blonde/oxblood with some light natural relicing. $380 and an absolute steal at that price. SOLD

Boss RV-6: good condition but velcro on bottom. SOLD

Red Witch Eve tremolo: like new, in box, velcro on bottom etc. SOLD

Xotic AC Plus pedal. SOLD

Joyo AC Tone. SOLD

HiFiMan RE-2000 Silver in ear monitors. A dirty little pleasure for any V-shaped frequency response curve fans out there. No box or receipt but can provide proof of purchase from HiFiMan. A few minor cosmetic scratches. Free shipping throughout NZ. $700

Photos to come.

We might have to wait & see if I still have a brain.
And fingers.
But yeah, if it's still available after my op.

THis is a good ad for the Iridium
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Hah, yep. Just went away for the weekend and happily spent a few hours playing along to backing tracks. Just took a Strat and a pedalboard. Can't do that with tubes.

It is and you should have it. I’m thinking of getting it back but I still have more amps than anybody needs.
Save me!

Would love it but have a few things I need to sort before I can get back to buying gear. Gotta get a leak in our bathroom celing fixed and save for a back operation... fun time ahead for me :(
