Also, YouTube Music if that's your jam

Sounds good bro! Drums sound big and meaty. Where they recorded live?
Are your tracks vs Nik's rhythm tracks panned hard L & R or blended and then panned?
Is the clean section all Axe FX or some Splawn in there too?
The scream BV's - all your singer or did you lend some of your vocal chords to the effort? :)
Dont suppose you have the pre-mixed stems? Would love to practice mixing stuff like this!

Drums were indeed recorded live at The Lab in Mt Eden by Zorran.

I think the tracks are blended/panned from memory. Seems like ages ago when we recorded back in June haha.

All cleans are DSL100!

Nah, all Scott layered, I did some minor BV's but i think we just ended up doubling Scotty's instead as they sounded better, i just do them live.

Have stems, I can see how the guys would feel about letting you have a tweak on them :)

Sounds great Reuben and Nik! Vintage Zorran and a really nice evolution of States sound.

One comment, and it's really more observation than criticism. As I listened I kept wishing the vox in the choruses sat a bit more above the music. Then after the last break down and the full sound kicks in again, the mix seems to change subtly and the vox sat right where I'd personally like to hear them. Listened a couple times to make sure it isn't just my ancient ears fooling me. Don't know what's different, but it is for some reason.

Either way, superb track over all!

Nice bro! So if you were being hyper critical......on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not noticeable in sound and feel and 10 being completely night and day difference).......how different is the FM3 to the AX8? Hearing how your AX8 sounded in the recording process for this track, and how it sounds mixed now.....do you think you would have ended up with a "better" result if you had your FM3 at the time? Curious minds need to know :)
It's not a night and day difference. Honestly, after some time with it I would say the AX8 is an 8.5/10 if you can give an FM3 a 10/10 in terms of sound and feel. YMMV.

The gain sounds are probably 99% the same, but I feel that the cleans and the grit patches have a little bit more "something" to them. The band noticed that and commented on it. It could also be caused by voodoo or the bunny tails I was wearing.

The biggest thing for me is the form factor. It's a smaller, lighter pedal with a big display and scribble scripts. I was happy with the AX8 in terms of sound. There is always going to be some sort of indescribable difference, because fractal changed their sound engine with the III/FM3. Therefore, my old AX8 patches did not transfer over perfectly even with the exact same settings - they sounded a bit different. So I had to recreate them.

I don't think I would have achieved a better result with the FM3 but I sure do like the extra pedalboard space hehe.
