Fastidious indeed. Checking my records shows that to get from a 2.4m long and 0.6m wide, rough sawn plank to what you currently see took about 28 hours. You could have routed many solid bodies within that time and bind a few too.StrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 6:23 pmJust need a fastidious Dutch man and some good wood !MiniForklift wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 5:08 pm Wow, stunning! Sigh, the pleasures of a challenge and unconventional build

Re: Jays' BBs
Can I get some feedback from the collective please? We all have our own colour preferences so I am not looking for yay or yak but any suggestions on potential improvements would be welcome.
Colours are waterbased so changes can be made fairly easily bearing in mind that going darker is easier than making things lighter.
Also note that without any oil finish atm, the waterbased colours look dull.
Just the phone camera so that will also impact on colour representation.
Here shown with the orange and red guitars to get an idea of where in the colour palette it is sitting

Re: Jays' BBs
Thanks guys, moving on to the top then followed by the sides. After that 10 coats of briwax teak oil. Really want to apply the latter while we have warm days over 20 degrees C.

Re: Jays' BBs
Blimey, it is hard to get the top's colour scheme the same as the back. After going back and forward, I think this will have to do.
Colours will pop up after oil has been applied. The back has had three coats applied now and is starting to look good.

Re: Jays' BBs
The good thing about the front and the back is they are on different sides of the guitar, so very few people would ever notice.
Love the colour as well.
