I thought that. I've a less aged guard I might swap. And the paint will be a little more aged if things go to plan. The CS69 pickup set is great and it's got a treble-bleed and Kingtone switch, so it's all-round groovy.

I prefer my CS54 though to be honest. This green one does the Knopfler / Mayer thing well but I like the 'girth' (sorry Bg) of the maple/ash '54.

In the past I haven't bothered with a primer. I only has a white base coat this time around because I tried painting it white and fucked-up the shade.

There were shitloads of swatches. I didn't look for shell pink but I'm sure there would be one there. When you go in Spraystore at the far right end of the counter there's a thing with all the swatch books in it. You giving it a go then?

If I can rig up a spray booth somewhere I'm tempted, I hear the gassing off is pretty horrific, our garage is attached to the house so that might be an issue!

My project tele is made of Korina and I want to paint it a transparent blonde-ish colour. At least, a bit darker than it naturally is.

What's a good water based grain filler? Is there anything suitable I can grab from bunnings etc?

Something like this would be hot. It's not retina-burning yellow - I dig it.

Maybe just grain filler + dye + clear? halp

Just use tru-oil, it has a slight yellowy tint to it, more coats you add the darker it will become, just build it up slowly

This is true, although I would like it to be a bit more yellow like my pic.

I have some tung oil sitting around... Although I guess enough tru oil would build up and give me a slightly shiny finish.
