Decided to refinish a guitar I made years ago. Have been wanting a sparkle guitar for 3 decades so though bugger it now is the time. Apart from doing a floyded Tele what is more offensive than a floyded Sparkle Les Paul to the masses :?: ... make it a Purple sparkle

if you don't like this then honestly you need to buy a mirror and take a good long look at yourself and then make the change :moresarc:

Haven't wired it up yet because I pulled on the wires to the toggle switch to hard so now have to take the neck pickup out again to get to it (and I can't be bothered today  ). It has a dimarzio bluesbucker in the neck and some kind of GFS pickup in the bridge (rated about 14k so we'll see what it sounds like)..have had these pickups for at least a year and never got around to putting them into anything so very interested to hear them (esp the Dimarzio)

It will go well with your frilly shirt, bell bottoms, platform shoes and eye liner.

close ... more like my Lennon & McCartney shirt (black/paisley no frills), stretch skin tight jeans, black/red snakeskin boots and no eye line (have bags under the eyes so that will do hehe)

Nice! Did you mix the sparkle lacquer your self or was it a mixed can job?? Read that sparkle paint can make a huge mess with over spray.

no .. went to one of those $2 shops and bought a $3 tube of glitter. Sprayed a layer of black spray paint on the guitar and the sprinkled the glitter over the wet paint then shook the guitar to spread the glitter evenly(ish) .. let paint dry then clearcoat

I have used spray can glitter paint before and yeah it is bloody messy with a lot of wastage

Just asking; would there be a difference in the look if you'd used a silver base or is the glitter completely opaque?
