Hello all.
I’ve tried to google this but its too hard for my brain.
I’ve got a few guitars that I’ve got in mind for adding a blower switch mod. What I’d like to do is simply change the volume pot to a push/push one where I can trigger (irrespective of what pickup/tone/vol setting I’m on) engaging the bridge pickup by itself and bypassing all the pickup selector and volume/tone pots.
Seems like it should be easy, but who knows how to do it?
Cheers
S

Re: Pickup wiring question (blower switch)
Let's see if I can write this... you'll need a dpdt pushpull switch
0-----0
pickup output --> 0 0 --> output jack
Pickup to switch <-- 0 0 <-- switch output
Which way up you do this depends if you want to push or pull for bypass
0-----0
pickup output --> 0 0 --> output jack
Pickup to switch <-- 0 0 <-- switch output
Which way up you do this depends if you want to push or pull for bypass

Ahh formatting doesn't look right in the post view but fine in the reply box. Each 0 is a lug so you get the idea

Re: Pickup wiring question (blower switch)
Right, I think I get the idea.
I wonder where in Auckland I might get a push/push switch over the weekend. I could go push/pull but I think push/push would be better for going into/out of solos.

Can't help with that one sorry! Urgent wanted post? I've never seen them available locally. Or check with local luthier etc.

Rockshop stock the dimarzio 250 & 500k push pull pots, you may get lucky and they have one in stock!Kiwiaxe wrote:Right, I think I get the idea.
