Baritone Neck Recommendations

Post by Hollowpoint »

I'm looking at converting an old Squier Tele beater into a baritone for a new band. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to get a reasonably-ish priced one? Not too keen to spend Warmoth money on a $300 guitar!

Thanks!

Depends on the scale you are after. Pitbull Guitars on aus sell Baritone necks now.

You can run a tele in baritone tuning, mine is in drop A with 13-62 strings on it.

^ Yeah you'd mostly be alright with 25.5" scale and heavier strings unless you need to go below A or something. It will intonate just fine down to B.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A

Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera
Verellen Meatsmoke | Synergy SYN1 | Mesa Studio

Yeah, I've done a fair bit of down tuned stuff in the past but it doesn't seem to have quite have the same same sound as a baritone when you're playing through a clean amp.
