It's just the photo, I don't have a real strat to compare with, but it looks and feels standard thickness. Good question though, I should measure and double-check before considering any trem upgrades.
I've been stung by buying a single coil sized humbucker which, apparently, fits in Strats. Evidently "fit" meant just fits. It didn't leave much room for lowering.
You often need to route out some extra space for the mounting screws and arms when you add a humbucker to a Strat. PITA

God, yes. Been there, done that so many times. Trying to route the wires so the hamburger sits flat. PITA. Buy a Hot Rails...

[Auto-correct but I like it]

I was actually referring to SC-sized hamburger. Can't remember what I had... I think it was an SD Little 59. It was a pretty tall wee fella.

If it is a double-stacked one, try removing the middle layer of cheese, this should free up enough room for height adjustment to work
(wow, this thread got surreal)

Well you know what to say when you phone the take-away and they ask: Delivery or pick up...?

Anyone averse to second hand clothes, don't read any further

From the hospice shop... excellent condition re stitchwork, lining and pockets; No smells and stains either but appears to have never received any leather related TLC.

That is what it is getting now... through lots of elbow grease.

Gonna look a real Westie once its done :D

To be fair, you should pair that with those shorts and start a Wham tribute band :)

My Ali Express locking tuners turned up today
Quality seems reasonable enough, will fit them to my budget strat copy over the weekend.

Have also started messing around trying to set up the guitar. I'm crap at it, but it does seem to be decent enough quality that I could achieve a reasonable set up with more practice.

Lols. That's shameless exhibitionism. I prefer the subtle tease...just the hint of a slightly out-of-focus toe
