So you've seen BG's penis too then!
In the last 37 years many people have been excited by my headstock.
Fark, I'm just happy with a little wood!

Ben! welcome back, so good to see posts from you again. And yes, that headstock was 'stolen' from a Gretsch Corvette which I re-designed to fit 3x3 side by side tuners. I am building something that (hopefully) sort of resembles a flat top early Gretsch.
Disappointed it's not a corvette...
Well, perhaps..... I am taking the headstock from the solid body Corvette, but I made the body in the style of the 6183 Corvette as per pic below. So a blend of Corvettes then... Still debating one or two pickups and type of bridge (metal or wood).

Current state of build, moving along ever so slowly. Any colour suggestions?

Call me Conway, but I like the dark blue.

My initial choice but no good with ebony binding. Starting to like the red as it pops the grain really well. Mind you, same with the light blue.

Yeah, I think you're right. A yellow/gold might also work?

In fact looking at the pics again, prolly not arched. Think I'd prefer a lighter colour on this one myself, to contrast with the binding.

I really like the red - it pops - and will go well with the black binding.

Looking sharp. Another vote for the red.

Thanks for the good feedback gents. Appreciated. Tried yellow but did not include sample as I did not like it. Can't find a gold food colour stain  at pack and save...
It has a flattop, all the wood you see is from NZ trees, except the ebony.

Walnut? The strip is kohekohe and the far right bit is natural but finished with teak oil. I will finish the kohekohe neck just like that.

So red it will be then...
