back from hols... workbench is updating my sx bass and a random jazz bass for a guy on facebook - his mate hit hard times and a bass would cheer him up no end. Its a dunger but going to attempt a makeover.

The 100 buck SX will end up with gotoh tuners, approx 70 bucks with minimal shipping via ebay. A headjob that removes the stupid shape of thesx headstock, a Fender logo - cos everyone will be fooled by that and the SX neck plate. Going to attempt to remove the B so its 'Fender Precision ass'

The neck is going to be stripped and finished with tru oil, apart from the new logo.

100 bucks worth of rio grande pickups thanks to kev. I have a tortoiseshell pickguard on its way but not due till this week.

Could be worse, you could be Dazza. Anyway, no offence intended, just a bit of humour.

You did a great job on the headstock. It is easily the best thread we have had on the forum too.

lazily didn't do photo love stories but the state of play is....
The jazz had a fret dress, crown and polish. It needed it but as with most Chinese necks, it was pretty straight to begin with.
Tone control and/or cap was stuffed, think more likely to be the pot but changed both anyway.

Its actually a not bad bass now, pickups are shit but its a player.

My SX P bass has got a bit more out of hand. I've ordered bits from Tonelounge and a new gotoh bridge. I've completely overmortgaged it.... But its a keeper. And its cost me about 600 bucks all up?

Just finished the work on this Hofner Senator 53 for a mate.
Fret level, crown and polish, bridge contouring and tail piece repair. general clean & setup.
Has a great vibe and quite bright sounding. At some point its its life it lost the pick guard and a pickup was installed.
