BOAN equals TOAN alert!

The new frets required the nut to be raised by a fraction. Could 'of' shimmed it but decided to make a new bone nut from some leftover Pack and Save cow bone which was chewed over by the our late dog many years ago

Got two blanks out of this piece (and yes, the bone was properly degreased)

Gone away from that, too stinky. I flatten one side on Sandpaper by hand. Then glue it to a straight piece of timber and feed it through the table saw. Very delicate work and safety glasses , dust mask and earmuffs are prerequisites

I still use mine for spare ribs, don't tell the missus.
