Yeah, I am. I still have a couple of Leatherman, one of them from the 90s. Also a Gerber I'm not a fan of. Used to have an EDC but I lost it somewhere. Now I just have a Leatherman on the keyring.

Most of my work is with woods but I am also doing bits and pieces with steel. I have just started building vibrato arms using 304 S/S rods for the arm. Today I made two collets from 304 S/S tubes and cut an M8x0.75 thread onto them.

Cutting about 40mm of thread in S/S was hard work, especially the start bit is difficult. Well, for me anyway... Coming along nicely though

Really looking forward to your knife making. A mate of mine in Holland makes (made?) special knives that he sells all over the world. (Need to check his website again).

Trawling through FB last night I saw this pic:

I got in touch with the seller who didn't know a lot about it, it was her late partner's guitar who died 12 years ago and now they're moving house wants to get rid of the junk in the garage, of which this guitar was a part. It hasn't left the case in about a decade she said as nobody else in the family plays.

I picked it up last night after having a hunch it was something decent.

After 90 minutes cleaning, steel wooling the frets, oiling the board, removing stickers and years of grime etc and we get this:









Turns out it's a MIJ RG560L from 1992 and looks to be 100% stock, even with the factory case. The only thing missing is the locking nut that clamps from the top side of the neck but Neil @ MusicWorks says they've got a replacement.

I am chuffed.

Thanks man. I haven't owned a Floyd guitar before but always liked the mij RGs ever since I saw Dexter Holland play a 470.

I also need to locate some neck screws and a switch tip. Fun times ahead.

It's nitro that orange-peeled something awful and has been sanded back probably by 80%. Live and learn, ay. Or perhaps more living that learning on my part.
