Setting up my Kramer and installing the new nut, locking tuners I have must be a tad sharp cause I broke some strings when I loosened them off to fit the nut... $24 set of NYXL's... FML... going to go buy a 3 pack of Slinkys

Re: What's on your work bench?
Onto the 8 string headless today, replacing the cardboard strips I stuck in the neck pocket with a proper maple shim.
These are marketed as being for bass guitars but I figured I'd need something wide enough to work with an 8 string neck. Despite it not filling the entire neck pocket its still gonna be better than a couple of strips of cardboard and the masking tape the factory used

Re: What's on your work bench?
Just dug out these project pieces this afternoon.
One piece Sapele and Ibanez 540p template sourced from the mighty Ash back in the day. Still fairly rough cut but it's cool, not too far from final form.
Reverse headstock ibanez necks were unicorns back when I purchased this one .... so I purchased a lefty Reverse AANJ isn't nearly as bad as I first thought. It will work.

Does stuttering count as a vibe? this is a tap tempo kill switch with switchable subdivisions I've designed, just need to pickup an enclosure tomorrow so I can build it up for pedalboard testing and bring it along to the gearfest on saturday for some independent opinions!

Re: What's on your work bench?
You know some guitarists have a momentary kill switch on their guitars which grounds the signal so it cuts out? Tom Morello is a prime example, well this does that but you can do it in time to a beat with tap tempo and then choose how many times per quarter note it kills the signal for and also for how long

Re: What's on your work bench?
Bass day, been meaning to shim the neck on the 5 string, discovered the strings were rusty... its been sitting in its bag under my bed unloved for quite some time so I shouldn't be so surprised... shimmed the neck and now contemplating what strings to put back on it, thinking maybe some flats?!??!
Also the Sub Ray 4 is getting a new alnico pickup and some Victor Wooten signature DR Blues, interested to hear how it sounds!

Re: What's on your work bench?
I love mine, unless I forget to unplug it. Never felt the urge to upgrade anything on it, maybe down the road.
I run most of my basses on flats, aria pro got some roundwound though. I have too many basses now. But I guess I got all the basses covered

Have you got a double bass?

Re: What's on your work bench?
Nope and I don’t have an Eb or Bb tuba either, though I can play them, or could 40 years ago….. so I guess I have most of the electric basses covered
