Re: What's on your work bench?
This has come along fairly nicely.
Neck pocket was straight forward and perfect until it wasn't. The pocket needed relief not a even a mm, I thought I had it, but went over .. . not even a mm... now I have a slight gap that is driving me nuts.
It has to be filled and I'm not 100% what I'm going to do. We have kauri veneer at work so that is an option.

Yeah, it won't take much. Will chat with the cabbies at work tomorrow and grab some bits and pieces.

Fret levelling the Niklaus Tele and making a new nut with narrower spacing. Ski jump for the higher frets. Now I've had strings on it for a couple of months I can refine it a bit more.

Re: What's on your work bench?
Another day, another repaired wah. This is off Facebook, sold as not working, which makes sense because it didn't work. The guy didn't know why.
I took the back off and a cap fell on the desk, one of the electrolytics (nice how they use 10v rated caps on a 9v supply). I replaced that cap, and the other electro due to age with higher voltage ones of the same value. And while I was in there I did some other of my favourite mods. These old ones with the 2 transistors lose a lot of volume when engaged, the 470 ohm off q1 can be reduced to bring the gain up so it's at unity. I went with 390r (what the modern ones use) and also lowered the input 68k to a 47k for the same reasons.
Also did some voicing mods, removed a lot of the schmutz and fizz that lives in the toe end, and this is a really nice sounding wah, I can see why these old ones are sought after.

Yes, best I've had with the flexible tip thing. I purchased a metre of that silicon tubing because the genuine spare is tiny & so damn expensive for what it is!
