How can I be sure I'm here?
The pills that I've been taking confuse me...

This was wound today after a bobbin making spree on the weekend, along with another wound to more vintage (7.9k) specs.

I do a range of tele bridges ranging from your standard vintage spec to a bit more rocky to this experiment which came out at 14.5k. I wasn't sure if I could fit anymore wire on there and still have it potted and wrapped and still be able to fit through the slot in a tele bridge.

With the baseplate to further juice the inductance and this will be a bit of a beast.

Nice looking thing. Unassuming and demure on the outside, but it'll punch your amp in the dick.

At the other end of the scale is the Cool Joe, a vintage inspired tele pickup scatterwound with 42awg wire to a satisfying 8k with Alnico 5 rods. This will not punch your amp in the dick but would help it do the crossword then sit by the fire and light a cigar.

Do you use copper plated steel or solid copper for your base plates?

Making a set neck superstrat, kind of my version of a 750XL
Mahogany body with a Maple top, chambered
Mahogany neck with Ebony fretboard, 25.5" scale length with 16" radius, will have Jumbo stainless frets
Black hardware - Gotoh 1996t is on the way
Undecided on pickups, thinking EMG's - but might go with a set of Mr Glyns

A cool customer wanted a Cool Joe tele pickup for their tele, so that's what they got. 8k, alnico 5, steel baseplate, scatter wound to the max.

It really sounds quite good. Such an improvement over whatever Cortek used in there originally.

An HSS set for a lovely guy somewhere down south. He wanted rock n roll in the bridge and blues in the others, so that's what he got. They also wanted white bobbins, hex poles, and white covers for the singles to match the guitar's existing theme, so that's also what they got.

A5/14k bridge pickup and 2x Alnico 5 single coils wound to a very pleasing 5.3k for soulful mojo noodling.

I have the same set in one of my strats only with Alnico 2. Very cool stuff.

Got some good progress on the set neck superstrat build
Neck mortis and tenon done, tenon is wide and long,
Headstock shaped and thicknessed, holes drilled for tuner
Gotoh trem installed, and is sitting in it's recess
Pickup cavities routed, and filled with an EMG 81 + 85 set

Wind the bobbins, add the poles, wire the thing, baseplate, magnet assembly. Add covers. I find customers really like the progress pics of their pickups being made. This is my Valley Girl set - A5/10k bridge, A5/7k neck - AKA my favourite PAFs.

Here we go again.

Another set for a metal dude down in the tron. White bobbins again, with black hexes of extreme mass for extra horsepower for extended low end.

A customer after my own heart when they said they wouldn't mind one of my hybrid designs in the neck, so what's what they got. This will be a fun set. A5/14.3k bridge, a5/9.2k neck.

Next up is a set that should look pretty darn cool - gold covers but black hex poles poking through. I think that'll be a very nice mix of modern and classic.

Just started assembly. Will intonate and setup first. I can see it being a bit of a pain with the doozy in the way.
