No worries, didn’t want it going in the bin

This is a resurrection no.4 I’m in the midst of, got for nothing with a number 5. Made in Canada so I thought worth cheering up, was fully rusted and japanning flaked off.

So I have a friend who recently passed away. His garage is literally full of boxes of old tools--woodworking mostly. The family are not sure what to do with them all. Condition is similar to some of the above pics--pre restoration. Any good advice for how to move them on?

(There is also a 1950s Morris saloon car, in need of full restoration. Does not drive. Unsure of the model but it looks cool.)

Take them to the local auction house, or overprice them on Trademe
The auction places usually know what is actually collectible, not always though.

That’s a video about something you’re thinking about making that’s not actually on your workbench. To be fair the mod team is currently thinking of how to handle you mate and one of the suggestions is to ban you from posting endless amounts of videos that are irrelevant to 90% of users.

So where is this coming from? is this a forum consensus or what? I don't think I've ever had someone say to me until now that the stuff I post that I think others may find interesting is just chaff they don't want to see... perhaps some education around the foes list and they can block me entirely if they're that upset by me trying to get a kōrero on...

Hi Jeremy. I'm not a mod but here's a view. It's a tricky one because one man's trash can be another man's treasure but sometimes it did feel excessive, the posting of videos. I sometimes wondered where you found the time to watch them and do work, training, life etc. But that's possibly a reflection of how time poor I feel at times. The other thing is that while you might have been trying to initiate discussion some of us would be reluctant because of the way some of the discussions went. For what it's worth I haven't made you a foe and I usually just skip past posts that don't interest me (our musical tastes are not similar!).

I am interested in how you went with the bass lessons and how that is going.

Probably not helpful but I would be happy to pay for a larger plane, up to a 7 if they have them.
