Yeah classic 6V6 amps and fender guitars, the best combination
Its not enough that we succeed, we still need others to fail

Re: Another Philco Stereo Radio Project?
I used a Beacon Multimatch OPT which has six secondary taps for a wide range of choices. I chose 4950 ohms for the reflected impedance.RectifiedAmps wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 6:05 pm Your choice would depend on your available OTs, wouldn’t it? The original looks like it’s wound for EL84s. What was your replacement OT designed for? The impedance ratios will dictate what you can or can’t use.
I still have a 10w Beacon OPT with a primary of 5000ohms. I haven't looked up the 6?6 datasheets yet so yes, you might be right that the OPT will force my valve 'choice'
From what the others are saying I should like the 6V6

I wonder if that's my Ragin Cajun... did you get it from Strummers recently?

I did.
What did you have it in?

In a solid state Fender thing, can't remember what model. Improved it hugely! Then I tried it in a Laney Cub 10, didn't work as well.

It turns a Princeton into a stage ready amp. Fantastic, but not ideal for home use.

Re: Another Philco Stereo Radio Project?
Yup! The Laney became a completely clean amp even when dimed.
