I bought a 300VDC+ 6.3V DC switch mode power supply from Ali Express . It claims 0.6A at 300V, plus 4A at 6.6V. I've tested it with a resistor load and it seems to deliver up to about 220mA.
Has anyone tried one of these power supplies in an amp?
300V SMPS - has anyone tried these?

Blackstar are using switchmode power supplies in their St James range of amps, looking at how complicated the thing is from these gut shots: https://www.tdpri.com/threads/blackstar ... s.1127196/ you'd almost wonder if the tubes were there for show

Compared to a PT & rectifier this is cheap enough to experiment with. But it would be better with 400V or more DC.
