Valve testing offer
I would be happy to test valves for any amp builders out there (altho' I guess many will have their own tube testers).

Re: Valve testing offer
What you got (pic please)?
I've got an ex-military AVO C.T 160 - I even like looking at it and you should smell it!
I can match tubes on it too.

Re: Valve testing offer
Tube testing gear is super cool. One of my workmates rescued some tube gear from a skip bin. Managed to match some of my tubes to use in my Jansen.

Re: Valve testing offer
Your AVO is surely a beautiful piece of gear.
My valve tester (named Lester) is a home-made thing and looks it, but it works well.

Is the lamp for current limiting/protection?

Re: Valve testing offer
Yes, Lester does not do shorts testing. The anode and screen supply circuits do have their own overload current limiting so the lamp is probably unnecessary. But I put the lamp in just as an extra layer of protection in case of a short in the valve.
