No laws, I’ve done it with combos and cabs.
Edge jointing should be no problem, apart from needing a decent hand plane, planer or jointer to get an accurate joint.

Whatever you do, just make sure you use the correct toan glue, its a 50:50 mixture of tartare sauce and maggi onion soup mix.
