Re: Marshmallow's build thread
2 circuits completed. Biased and tested.
Had one wire issue but a coax sorted it.

Re: Marshmallow's build thread
So making new adjustments. I'll try to get sound samples in the next few days.
40W tube rectified amp with 6L6 tubes,high-tension bias tremolo circuit from the Princeton Reverb. Still making mods but after playing it for some time, its very warm, organic tones with a versatile low to mid-gain range. The clean tones are rich and sparkly and can easily shift to mid-gain, while maintaining a smooth, Dumble-like texture and the articulation of a Jim Kelley amp. I guess it can adapt to any style and still have that unique voice. I really like this amp so I'm building a 20w version of it using an old classic tone output (6v6)

Re: Marshmallow's build thread
Something like that! Had bright, mid, deep boost. Mv is a ppimv like dumble amps. Tried it at the shop the other day and it sings. Plenty of harmonic for a single channel and the breakup is so smooth but also aggressive. I'll take it to the shop tomorrow again and actually record.robthemac wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 2:08 pmIs that a Dumble flavour tone stack and MV set-up too?Marshmallow wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 1:20 pm So making new adjustments. Re: Marshmallow's build thread
Just finished drawing the CAD and ordered the chassis for:
Trainwreck
ODSR
TRJM
PLEXI
and for my 10w custom.
All amps will be 50w.
Amps completed:
Ultraphonix/3wpreamp/jim kelley mix with reverb and trem 40w
TC custom reverb 40w
Single channel deluxe reverb with minor ultraphonix values 40w.
I may sell the single channel deluxe reverb 6l6 to make space. Tc custom reverb and ultraphonix mix spoken for.

Re: Marshmallow's build thread
Does cost increase greatly per chassis getting 1x verses getting 10x?

Re: Marshmallow's build thread
Just a bit but not a lot. It's usually the cad processing that adds a bit more haha

Re: Marshmallow's build thread
Yes...
Quick update, I've been busy building amps the past few weeks. I now have 4 different amps with 4 different voicing, 3 different circuits one chassis design
Amp 1: Ramsays amp (green board) Voicing specific for ramsay
6v6 rectified. Bias trem, reverb. Switches: bright, pab, sweep, trem
Amp 2: 40w Ultraphonix. Worked on the schematic with a few amp makers e.g. tone geek, ampguy etc. 6l6 rectified.
Bias trem, reverb. Switches: bright, pab, sweep, trem) fx loop
Amp 3, 20w Ultraphonix Custom (own values). Has more sustain and more bloom.
Switches: bright, mid boost, 3 way pab (not full bypass) sweep, trem) fx loop. Bias trem, reverb. My current favourite.
Front: Controls - Volume, TMB, MV (Dumble style), Reverb, Tremolo speed, TR intensity.
Back: Dwell, Impedance selector
Amp 4
Deluxe Reverb single channel modified - This has the switch mods and also modded to run 6l6.
Unfortunately 2 of the amps are going out today. One to America.
