Decided to knock off early, got the sides all done, might let the glue settle and do the corners tomorrow

Re: 1 x 8" cab build
Cheers! I think I needed more glue as its bubbling in spots, keep using my roller so hopefully it will stick

It may dry better as it will probably shrink a bit. Vinyl reacts differently to tolex so can't really say with certainty - less is more with tolex

Re: 1 x 8" cab build
I’ve got some weight on it now which will hopefully help

Re: 1 x 8" cab build
Application of weight has helped massively, and I think I overdid the glue which might explain the issues, tomorrow I'll do the front and back folds with less and see how that goes
Was just a bit worried mostly with the vinyl as the backing seemed to soak it up... might need to pre-spray it perhaps and then let it cure and then a light spray to attach?

I'm a dab hand with a sewing machine, we could make this happen, you might need to switch from surf to German oompah music though!

Another side note, IPA and a cloth seems to clean up overspray of the ADOS on the vinyl quite nicely, relief!

Re: 1 x 8" cab build
Glue up went much easier this time, less glue, and applied from further away, who would have known the instructions were accurate!

Re: 1 x 8" cab build
Not bad for a vinyl job I didn't have much success with spray on contact adhesive - very hit and miss. I use waterbased adhesives now, it takes longer to set but I don't get any bubbling or lifting.
