Marshmallow 50w Amp - Photos

Post by Marshmallow »

I thought I'd share the photos on a separate page.

Handmade in Japan.

This build is using turret boards. It's the first turretboard for me in this size. I thought it would be messy but clearly not.Power supply board is the only thing that needs upgrading later on (January) and a few mini capacitors. Relay circuit boards are handmade PCboards and painted black on top to look cleaner. I decided not to proceed with silk screen printing.... Instead i'll use a faceplate which is now being made as we speak. There's a guy who makes basic faceplates on reverb. I also found out that he does custom amp chassis with predrill options so will try his chassis on the next build.

Few things I'm waiting for to arrive:
Sprague Atom (January upgrade)
Vox speaker grille
Faceplate

Very nice work, I prefer the turret board over the eyelet boards personally.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Are those black marks you've drawn on your non-polarised caps for "outside foil" orientation?
