Perfect amp for playing 'Live Rust'!

Dug out an old cab. The cloth behind the grille has gone, I'll replace. Thinking that I'll just give it a light clean rather than repaint. Because the HT is going down to the speaker, I've decided to fix the head to the cab. I don't like the idea of a socket getting unplugged and replugged.

Designed a new face plate for the Jansen 4/12 copy to accommodate the Gain and Master knobs. Got it engraved and put it on yesterday. Me think it looks good

Been working on my SLO clone over the last few days. Jet City HDM with upgraded pots, caps and some resistors. Circuit is now identical to SLO values (Thanks to Optical for his advice there)
Also put a new Hammond choke and OT in. Last night I actually put the stock tranny back in because of how much more it bites. The Hammond is great but just a little too smooth.
This thing is so damn loud. On one it hurts my ears. I run it through Fryette PS and holy shit, so good!
No need to mod this beast any more, its now gone from a great to an awesome amp.
Practice tonight with the boys for the first time in ages. Looking forward to it.

Which Hanmond OT is it?

It's funny in my SLO clone I like an output transformer with less primary impedance (Marshall spec) for the same reason, less smooth, more bite and aggression. I'm not sure what the specs are on the jet city trans but would make sense.

The Hammond 1760W has a 2K primary which is correct for a SLO but I too wonder about the Jet City OT primary.

I can have a look. Stock tranny is far louder too, and much larger. But yeah, more character for sure. Hammond is still a great unit for not much money.
