Cabinet finished but sadly haven't even started on the amp yet. I suppose I could transplant the amp from the head that I made last year.
+1! For sale shortly at Conway's Blue Emporium?
Don't think so, he's gone off blue and I have gone on to it
Wait for a double bound blue tele to appear on a forum near you...
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
I have been playing with some cardboard, paint and a sharpie ro create a pseudo faceplate in a light blue colour. Just to see if would look better than the black one I have.
What you think? Black faceplate or a pastel coloured one?
Pseudo pastel blue faceplate

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I've strayed to the dark side and am trying to build an amp using a pcb. I found the Gerber files on another forum, sent them far away over the wires and received boards in my mailbox.
First attempt will be a tweed deluxe. Layout is as per usual, just no niggly bits.
Second lot of boards is for an octal version of a dark terror.

Chassis populated with all the parts. Only the mains bits to be 'suddered' now. Then testing voltages without valves...
Point to point always looks messy, but believe me, this looks very tidy compared to the original Jansen 4/12 units

Correct, apologies. The other one is one that got serviced by RectifiedAmps. Same thing though, parts going in all directions with bare leads, etc.
Always have this mental picture of ladies in the Jansen workshop 'soddering' away and sniffing those lead fumes.
Neatness under the hood was not a requirement, speex of putting it together was.
